چکیده
Objective: This study aims to identify different biomarkers of Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) using untargeted metabolomics screening.Materials and Methods: In a case-control study, serum samples from MPS patients (n = 19) healthy controls 10) were analyzed reverse-phase liquid chromatography mass spectrometry quadrupole time-of-flight (MS-QTOF). The resulted raw data was processed with Progenesis QI analysis software. HMBD database used the metabolites based on their fold change (>1.2), variable importance plot (>1) P < 0.05. MetaboAnalyst 5.0 generate metabolic network for all identified metabolites. Results: group reported significantly higher visual analog scale when compared control while most other routine blood chemical profiles not different. Twenty-seven which could distinguish controls. Inosine chenodeoxycholic acid abundant in group, whereas others low. Metabolites divided into three categories: lipids, nucleotides, organic compounds. Possible included lysoSM (sphingomyelin), lysoPC (lysophosphatidylcholine), lysoPE (lysophosphatidylethanolamine), triglyceride, inosine. Conclusion: These metabolite profiles, including glycerophospholipids mechanism purine metabolism, indicate that inflammatory process might be related mechanisms MPS. A larger sample size, trigger point location, modifications therapy afterward should further explored.

Comparison of dry needling and inhibitory kinesio taping on the pain and functional disability in females with myofascial pain syndrome in upper trapezius muscle
Introduction: Musculoskeletal disorders are one of the most important causes of the pain, and the myofascial pain syndrome is one of the most commonly reported cases which characterized by the presence of trigger points. The purpose of the present study was to compare the therapeutic effects of two methods of dry needling and inhibitory kinesio taping on the pain intensity and functional disabi...

BACKGROUND Electroacupunture (EA) includes the passage of an electrical current through the acupuncture needle and is commonly used for pain relief. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the EA treatment effects for myofascial pain in the upper trapezius muscle. METHODS Twenty women aged ranging from 18 to 40 years (mean=24.95; SD=5.88 years), with a body mass index ranging from 19 to 25 kg/m2 (mean=22.33;...

Introduction: This research aimed to compare two methods of kinesiotaping and stretching of upper trapezius muscle in treatment of neck pain due to forward head posture. Research Methods: Design of this research was semi-experimental. 36 subjects (29 female and 7 men) with forward head posture between 20-40 years of age with no history of neck pain due to vertebral fracture, disc herniatio...
متن کاملManagement of myofascial pain of upper trapezius: a three group comparison study.
UNLABELLED It is important to identify the most effective therapeutic modality in the management of myofascial trigger points (MTPt). Thus we aimed to study the effect of therapeutic ultrasound, laser and ischemic compression in reducing pain and improving cervical range of motion among patients with MTPt. Experimental study comparing three groups was designed as a 5 days trial, a co-relational...
متن کاملRe: "Dry Needling Alters Trigger Points in the Upper Trapezius Muscle and Reduces Pain in Subjects with Chronic Myofascial Pain".
OBJECTIVE To determine whether dry needling of an active myofascial trigger point (MTrP) reduces pain and alters the status of the trigger point to either a non-spontaneously tender nodule or its resolution. DESIGN A prospective, nonrandomized, controlled, interventional clinical study. SETTING University campus. PARTICIPANTS A total of 56 subjects with neck or shoulder girdle pain of mor...
